Role intro:
Reporting to the CEO/Founder and joining the exec board, we are currently looking for a highly experienced ‘Operational’ Chief Technology Officer (CTO), to play a leading role in driving the technology strategy and direction as the company enters an exciting international scale phase following a recent large investment round.
A key hire to the board, we are looking for a strategic technology leader with a strong background in SaaS, experience in high-growth environments, proven experience in scaling technology & teams, and the skills to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution to meet investor expectations and drive value creation.
Core responsibilities include:
* Define and implement a clear technical vision | roadmap that supports rapid scale and aligns with the company’s mission and growth objectives.
* Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to translate business goals into scalable and secure technical solutions.
* Partner closely with commercial, sales, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure alignment on goals and seamless execution of the growth roadmap.
* Lead platform scalability initiatives to ensure the core products can handle increased traffic, users, and data demands.
* Oversee cloud infrastructure management, ensuring cost-effective scaling and efficient resource usage.
* Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, nurturing a culture of innovation, ownership, and accountability.
* Drive agile development practices and ensure a rapid iteration process, balancing speed with stability and performance.
* Lead automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and speed up the delivery pipeline.
* Develop proactive security policies, foster a security-first mindset across the company, conduct regular audits, and ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2) as the company scales.
* Translate complex technical challenges into strategic insights for executive leadership and board members.
* Engage with investors and stakeholders to demonstrate how technology initiatives support growth, customer acquisition, and retention.
Key experience / track record you will offer:
An experienced CTO, you’ll offer a strong background in SaaS, experience in high-growth environments, and the following core attributes:
* Experience scaling teams and platforms in fast-growing SaaS environments.
* Demonstrated success in optimizing and scaling cloud infrastructure (AZURE) to support multi-tenant SaaS architecture and data growth.
* Excellent people management skills with a history of building, developing, and leading high-performing teams in a high-growth setting.
* Strong commercial acumen with evidence of developing harmonisation between tech, commercial, sales and marketing teams.
* Ability to balance short-term objectives with long-term vision, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
* Prior experience working closely with PEs and understanding the unique demands of a PE backed startup.
Package: Six figures + equity options available
Location: the company operates a 4 days (office) and 1 day (wfh) policy and therefore, it is expected that you will be based in the North West, or happy to relocate to the region.
