Job summary The NHFM Medical Engineering Team are a highly cohesive team of around 20 Technicians based across 4 main sites at Wansbeck, North Tyneside, Northumbria and Hexham hospitals, providing technical support to clinical teams in maintaining approximately 25,000 medical devices throughout Northumberland. Main duties of the job Working in a key role within the Medical Engineering Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance of a wide range of medical devices throughout their full lifecycle, from acceptance testing, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, through to decommissioning of devices. Based at The Northumbria Hospital in Cramlington, the successful candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, be able to work unsupervised or as part of a team, often under pressure to meet tight deadlines, to ensure that medical devices are appropriately maintained and are available for clinical use. You will be qualified to HNC level in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent and have extensive knowledge and experience of maintaining complex electronic medical equipment, including anaesthetic delivery system, patient ventilators and other life support equipment.
