To strengthen our motivated Team at our Packaging plant in Bradford, we are looking for a passionate Financial Accountant (m/f/d).
The UK&I Regional Financial Accountant role will be based in Bradford, reporting to the UK&I Regional Head of Accounting. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team.
The position will act as a key support to the UK&I Regional Head of Accounting and wider finance team, ensuring appropriate financial controls are being adhered to, challenging where deemed necessary and ensuring all have a good understanding of the P&L and Balance Sheet.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the accounting process for the non-manufacturing entities within the UK&I region and Pharma Division, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all related expenses and liabilities.
* Lead and execute the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, intercompany recharges, variance analysis, etc.
* Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations, including Intercompany settlements and investigation of reconciling items.
* Banking - reconciliation of loan and bank accounts, posting of interest & interest settlements, third-party payments, etc.
* Resolve discrepancies between payroll instruction of charges and actual charges that left the bank.
* Credit card maintenance - setting up new card holders and removing holders when they leave the business.
* Preparation of Budget and forecast P&L's for the non-manufacturing entities within the UK&I Region and Pharma Division.
* Ensure all data entry is posted on accounting software within strict deadlines.
* Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end audit.
* Support Regional Finance Lead's with implementing key controls and SOPs.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
Required Experience/ Qualifications
* Educational background: A higher degree in accounting.
* Qualified Accountant or Part Qualified / Finalist Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, Chartered).
* Proactive problem solver, with proven ability to manage integration projects and motivate employees for the journey ahead.
* An effective and dependable team player who can work unsupervised and provide support at crucial reporting times.
* Experience of implementing and maintaining strong financial controls.
* Flexible to respond to changing priorities and issues, able to multi-task, work on multiple concurrent projects.
* Culturally aware, with excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels within the company and able to demonstrate strong organisation skills, possess a high degree of numeracy and have good analytical skills.
* Highly proficient with Microsoft suite.
* Previous experience & detailed knowledge of ERP systems.
* Positive "can do" attitude, with enthusiasm to "make a difference".
* Hands-on, detail-oriented approach.
