SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Rugby, CV21 Weekly Pay Rate: £395 - £430 (After Tax & NI Deductions) Start Date: 28/04/2025 Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm Contract: Long-Term Temp to Perm Are you experienced in supporting children with SEN and looking for a meaningful role in early years education? Long Term Futures is working closely with a warm and welcoming OFSTED 'Good' primary school in Rugby (CV21) to appoint a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in EYFS. This long-term role offers the potential to become a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. About the Role You will be supporting a child in nursery with a diagnosis of Down's Syndrome and ASD, who has an EHCP in place. The child also presents with communication needs and requires a nurturing, play-based approach to learning. Your responsibilities will include: Providing 1:1 support to help the child access the EYFS curriculum through play-based learning Supporting with communication, interaction, and social development Using visual aids, Makaton, and other strategies to support speech and language development Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to deliver a consistent and nurturing routine Creating a calm, engaging learning environment that suits the child's needs Delivering short, structured activities to support language and cognitive development We're looking for someone who: Has experience supporting children with ASD, Down's Syndrome, communication needs, or similar learning profiles Is familiar with the EYFS framework and a learn-through-play approach Can provide consistent, tailored support and build strong relationships with young children Is patient, empathetic and resilient in their approach Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA Certificate or a related degree) About the School Located in the heart of Rugby, CV21, with excellent transport links Inclusive and nurturing ethos with a strong emphasis on early intervention Collaborative staff and leadership team On-site SEND support and regular CPD opportunities Why Work with Long Term Futures?
