Position Summary
The role requires a professional with proven ability to translate/proofread video games from Japanese into French, Italian, German, European Spanish. The translator will work closely with a team of in-house professionals and project coordinators on all translation aspects of video games. The candidate must also be prepared to translate and proofread from English, if required.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Translation of video game-related material
2. Proofreading of video game-related material
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
1. Translation experience publishing under regular deadlines, and the demonstrated ability to translate in their localisation language while handling multiple tasks in an organised manner
2. Previous experience in the gaming industry is a strong plus
3. Good written and oral communication skills in English
4. FIGS speaker at native level with creative writing style
5. Knowledge of local culture for language of expertise
6. Demonstrated experience utilising specialised technical programs to translate files is essential
7. Experience with Word and Excel is required and ability to learn new programs is essential
8. Great attention to details
9. Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with unpredictable schedules and tight deadlines
10. Good team player
Editor (FIGS and LATAM)
Position summary
The role requires a professional with proven ability to edit video games in French, Italian, German, European Spanish or LATAM Spanish. The editor will work closely with a team of in-house editors and project coordinators on all editing aspects of video games and related materials (video game web site, etc.)
Primary Responsibilities
1. Editing of a wide variety of video games-related material (checking grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, and language-specific slang in the language of expertise)
2. Ensuring consistency regarding the use of terminology and style in the language of expertise.
3. Reviewing, revising, and proofing all video game related contents.
4. Reviewing and implementing the corrections reported by the localisation QA team.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
1. Editing experience publishing under regular deadlines, and the demonstrated ability to edit, revise, or rewrite in their localisation language while handling multiple tasks in an organised manner
2. Previous experience in the gaming industry is a strong plus
3. Native level language skill of their localisation language and fluent English language skill is required
4. Knowledge of local culture for language of expertise
5. Demonstrated experience utilising specialised technical programs to edit files is essential
6. Experience with Word and Excel is required and ability to learn new programs is essential
7. Great attention to details
