You will be part of this ambitious transformation by joining our busy in-house legal team (currently five people) supporting both the UK Charity and its trading subsidiary, and our international offices (Brazil, USA, China). You will support the Legal Team on the review, negotiation, management and administration of contracts and other legal instruments including those of the EMF Business Network, collaborations, partnerships, and the supply of goods and services agreements. Role & Responsibilities: Reporting to our General Counsel, your main responsibilities will be: Initiating and managing contracts processes including a focus on those of the EMF Business Network. Reviewing and reporting on supply of goods and services contracts. Negotiating contracts and agreements with counterparties (and managing internal liaison within Legal, and other escalation and approval, where necessary), including those of the EMF Business Network, and the supply of goods and services contracts. Communicating and liaising with key external contacts and stakeholders to steward agreements to their conclusion. Arranging and managing the execution of contracts. Maintaining a database of contracts and licences (with flags for notable events and expiries), including securely storing, organising and retrieving contracts in a centralised contract library. Working with Legal to develop and maintain template contracts, licences and other legal instruments. Participating in development of internal know-how and document database together with knowledge and best practice management (with Legal). Your profile: A law degree and/or postgraduate qualification in law (England & Wales) is desirable, but not essential. A minimum of 3 years’ solid experience of contact management in any sector, including acting independently as lead/sole negotiator on a range of contracts (albeit subject to oversight/management) is essential. Proven experience facing counterparties in negotiations and successfully negotiating contracts, including the supply of goods and services contracts. Solid legal drafting skills (to a technical legal standard, under the laws of England & Wales). Evidence of working effectively with colleagues across an organisation at various levels of seniority and experience. Experience liaising and communicating effectively with external collaborators and key stakeholders. Proven expertise with contracts management system(s) and/or other technology and systems including integrations and automations as appropriate. Location: This role may be remote in the UK or be based in our offices in Cowes, Isle of Wight.
