Senior Medical Secretary

We have an opportunity for a Senior Medical Secretary to join their team of staff in the Administration department.
This is a Full Time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
* GCE/GCSE’s subjects to include English Language
* Word Processing/RSA II
* 1 year part qualification RSA Part I
* Ability to deal with sensitive issues with empathy and the ability to generate rapport with individuals rapidly
Duties of this role include:
* To support the Patient Administration Manager / Operations Manager to manage the hospital secretarial services in accordance with the standards required to achieve the Hospital’s objectives.
* To contribute to the strategic, operational and business development of the hospital.
* To provide the highest possible standard of secretarial and clerical support, ensuring that the service is professional, effective and makes optimum use of the resources available.
* Day to day leadership of secretarial team ensuring the provision of high quality and efficient services at all times.
* Ensure that typed documentation is of the highest standard.
* Maintain accurate documentation and files.
* Communicate effectively/timely all verbal and written messages, responding to urgent requests.
* Coordinating cover across the One Orthopaedics team, including sickness & holiday leave, overtime etc. Inputting onto workday and Supporting Patient Administration Manager.
* Provide "on the job” training for new members of the One Orthopaedics administration team.
* Dealing with queries from existing members of the One Orthopaedics team.
* Acting as a super user for the software that we use including Circle applications such as Sectra, Meddbase practice management software, Dictate IT digital transcription software, Node 4 call delivery software.
