Job Purpose: This role is responsible for the understanding of customer requirements with regards to equipped Pillars. This role will work with the manufacturing team to ensure a safe product of the expected quality is produced cost-effectively and delivered in a timely manner.
Business Overview: Lucy Zodion is an industry leader in advanced street lighting controls, power distribution, and electric vehicle (EV) supply solutions. Our products assist customers with energising urban and highways infrastructure from the ground up. Our range includes photocells, power distribution enclosures, EV connection feeder pillars, isolators, cut outs, and switchgear.
Job Context: This role will create General Arrangement drawings, wiring schematics, and Bills of Material. From those, they will identify costs and submit quotations to customers. The role requires an individual with excellent customer service, inquisitive and analytic skills who will work in a productive and efficient manner to resolve any issues.
Job Dimensions: This role will report to the Operations Manager and will work alongside a team of Tendering and Design Engineers. Key Accountabilities:
1. Create product drawing packages in line with customer specifications.
2. Create quotations and submit to customers.
3. Specify components to create accurate Bills of Material.
4. Ensure that margins for tenders are in line with the business objectives of profitability.
5. Design product for manufacture to ensure efficient production of equipped pillars.
6. Review manufacturing issue feedback sheets and put in place corrective actions to prevent repeat occurrences.
7. Update drawings where necessary to reflect the as-built status of the PWP after any agreed changes.
8. Visit suppliers and customers as necessary.
9. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required/instructed to maintain or improve the efficiency, quality, and service provided by the PWP business unit.
10. Review drawing packages with the Equipped Pillar senior electrician.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Minimum:
1. Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
2. Drawing package competency to enable creation of GA and wiring schematics.
3. Design experience in electrical switchgear and systems.
4. Experience of liaising with customers and interpreting their requirements.
