Main duties and responsibilities
To develop and deliver existing undergraduate and postgraduate modules on degree programmes within the School of Life and Medical Sciences. Contribute towards the development of new programmes such as Medicine and MSc Neuroscience. You will also be required to engage in other forms of scholarly activity depending upon your interests that could include conducting research in an area conducive to our School’s research interests, focusing upon pedagogic research and curriculum development, or involvement in commercial activities for the School. Skills and experience required You will have demonstrable industry, Higher Education, and/or research experience within a relevant discipline related to neuroscience/neurobiology. Experience in teaching in Higher Education with an understanding of pedagogical principles would also be an advantage. You will have an understanding of the major subject areas related to teaching on Pharmacology focussed degree programmes to postgraduate level. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organisational skills with the ability to adhere to tight deadlines. You will have demonstrable ability to undertake scholarly activities and/or conduct research in an area related to the department’s research needs. Qualifications required Lecturer : A BSc (Hons) degree in Pharmacology or an equivalent bioscience-related subject (e.g. Biomedical Science). A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant bioscience discipline, and a Senior Fellowship/Fellowship of Advance HE is desirable. Senior Lecturer : A BSc (Hons) degree in Pharmacology or an equivalent bioscience-related subject (e.g. Biomedical Science), and a Masters degree in a bioscience-related subject. A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant bioscience discipline and a Senior Fellowship/Fellowship of Advance HE is desirable.
