Astroscale is seeking to employ a motivated Product Manager, at our UK office based in the Harwell Space Cluster. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a dynamic company seeking to make a positive contribution to the growing problem of orbital debris that endangers humanity’s continued use of space. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Business Development (BD) and Product within the Commercial Team. As a Product Manager your primary role will be to develop the strategy for future products and services. The Product Manager will work on a number of ISAM products, but will specialise in the SSA (Space Situational Awareness) service line, also conducting SSA BD and bidding and winning new SSA opportunities in commercial and civil markets. The role is ideally suited to candidates with a background in SSA, a technical knowledge of satellites, and experience engaging with external space organisations and stakeholders. You will recognise and seek opportunities, and support several business development related areas, including proposal production for commercial sales and institutional opportunities as relevant. Responsibilities Strategy Working with the Product Strategy Engineer and Office of the CTO, support the development and implementation of ASUK strategy, especially for SSA products and services, including acquisition of data for future missions, coordination with partner companies, and creation of new SSA revenue streams. Develop a comprehensive understanding of ASUK SSA strategy including value proposition, revenue modelling and pricing, working with Business Analysis team on customer and competitor analysis and market sizing. Product Management Lead on the exploration, development and implementation of new payloads and capabilities to perform SSA inspection activities from space-based platforms. Develop SSA product roadmaps for the UK, which can be harmonised with Astroscale group SSA ambitions and Office of the CTO. Oversee or support current and future SSA contracts and programmes of work as directed, including the technical content and direction of the work, liaising with appropriate industry, academic and government groups, and ensuring the relevance of the SSA programmes to Astroscale and the company goals. Work on the development of an array of other (non-SSA) ISAM products and services. Business Development Lead on the development and submission of bids involving SSA capabilities, engaging and shaping future potential opportunities with commercial and civil stakeholders. Support identification and development of SSA prospects and growth of the SSA pipeline in commercial and civil - including eliciting customer needs, developing new SSA market opportunities, and helping to construct appropriate solutions brought into service. Support other non-SSA commercial or institutional bids, or opportunities in the BD team as directed. Essential Skills University BSc / MSc (or similar) degree in an engineering, scientific or mathematical discipline, or equivalent science based/engineering experience Experience of leading, working on or supporting technical bids of various different sizes, as well as engaging with stakeholders to form and shape future SSA opportunities. An understanding and experience of the international SSA ecosystem, including key stakeholders, customers, and commercial, civil and current SSA/STM policy environment. Ability to manage and take responsibility for delivery of own work, within agreed project budgets and schedules Strong understanding of the space industry and ecosystem. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills including to both technical and non-technical audiences. Desirable skills Post-graduate degree in an engineering, scientific or mathematical discipline Significant experience within the space SST/ SSA sector, including commercial, technical and policy domain, or direct spacecraft engineering experience in the space sector. Experience producing proposals for with UKSA and ESA.
