Are you a dedicated and ambitious medical professional looking to advance your career? We are excited to announce an opportunity for a passionate Foundation Year 2 (FY2) Doctor to join our dynamic surgical team for a one-year position.
To be eligible, you must have full registration with the GMC and hold a licence to practice in the UK. Additionally, you should have completed a minimum of Foundation Year 1 training. We are looking for someone who demonstrates a strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, and thrives in a multidisciplinary setting.
In this role, you will be provided with numerous opportunities for professional development within a supportive environment, including access to mentorship and training. You will have the chance to contribute to research, teaching, and participate in a Quality Improvement (QI) project. Your responsibilities will include participating in the out-of-hours (on-call) and HDU rota, along with other duties involving the clinical care of acute and elective admissions to the general surgical unit.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain exposure to surgical operating lists, a supervised minor ops list monthly, and the QI project with a supervisor. There will also be opportunities to be involved in teaching within the surgical department for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. We offer a weekly surgical teaching programme, a surgical skills club, and monthly audit meetings. Additionally, we provide financial support for either a course or a conference of your choice.
