We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Qualified Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in a well-presented, 4-bedroom Ofsted-registered children's home. This is a solo placement setting based on a 2:1 support ratio, designed to provide individualised, high-quality care. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing overnight care and support to a child with Emotional and Behavioural needs ensuring their safety, well-being, and emotional security throughout the night. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and professionals are essential. A driving licence is preferred for transportation needs. Responsibilities Provide direct, 2:1 care and supervision to the child throughout the night, ensuring their safety, security, and comfort in a solo placement environment. Assist in implementing tailored care plans to meet the child's individual needs and circumstances. Create and maintain a nurturing, calm, and supportive environment in the home, helping the child feel safe and settled overnight. Communicate effectively with the child and staff to ensure smooth transitions between night and day shifts. Maintain thorough and accurate records of observations, incidents, and actions taken, in line with care plans and regulatory requirements. Engage in continuous training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in residential childcare. Safely transport the child to appointments or activities, if required, ensuring their safety and well-being during travel. Experience and Skills Essential: Previous experience working with children in an Ofsted-registered residential care home, particularly in solo placements and during night shifts. Familiarity with IT systems for record-keeping and reporting is beneficial. A strong background in childcare, social care, or related fields is advantageous. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate empathetically and clearly with children, staff, and families. NVQ Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification is required. A calm and resilient disposition, with the ability to manage challenges or incidents during the night.
