The Urology Department at Royal Derby Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a fixed-term Locally Employed Registrar CT2 starting on 15th January 2025 until 5th August 2025 with a possible extension to post. The department are looking for an enthusiastic experienced individual to join a forward thinking and proactive Urology team of 12 consultants, supporting in the delivery of a full range of urological services. This post is designed to provide advanced experience in urological surgery. The successful appointee will be actively involved in supporting both emergency and elective urology activity including theatres, day case and outpatient clinics. The post holder will participate in the urology, trainee level on call rota. Whilst it is not a recognised training post, this post is well supervised and there are opportunities to learn and develop skills. This post is to cover a specific period. The successful candidate must have completed all pre-employment checks and be available to commence 15th January 2025., The successful candidate will have previous experience in the urology speciality, with the expectation that the post holder will undertake independent outpatient clinics, flexible cystoscopy sessions and act as first assistant in theatre. Undertaking the continued care & treatment of patients pre and post-operatively. The post holder will have exposure to a wide range of training opportunities in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery as well as the opportunity to attend departmental teaching.
