As a Highly Specialist Podiatrist, you will be responsible for supporting your Manager in ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care, as well as mentoring and supporting junior colleagues to achieve the same. You will offer personalised patient care to a cohort of increased/high-risk patients including wound care and biomechanical assessment, supporting their independence and well-being and going the extra mile to ensure that the care provided is compassionate. Main Duties of the Job
You will carry a caseload and be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of individual treatment plans using specialist clinical reasoning skills to provide advanced assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of a caseload of high-risk/complex, chronic, and acute foot problems. You will work closely with colleagues to case manage complex patients and facilitate early, smooth, and coordinated care between community and hospital. You will be expected to mentor and support junior colleagues to develop their knowledge and skills in the management of these complex patients. Additionally, you will assist the Operational Manager with developing and maintaining the service to a high standard including audit and evaluation of clinical practice. You will be expected and encouraged to take part in relevant research used to enhance practice.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Experience as a highly specialist podiatrist
* CPD specific to high-risk podiatry (e.g., relevant postgraduate course)
* Significant wound care experience
* NMP
Experience
* At least 5 years post-graduate experience in podiatry
* Experience of audit
* Good understanding of governance and its implementation
* Knowledge and experience of managing an MSK caseload
* Experience of research
