The Medical Surgical unit at Waldo County General Hospital is a 23-bed unit that includes a swing bed program. Care is provided across the adult life span to those that are experiencing illness and are appropriate in a critical access community hospital setting. Provision of care includes telemetry, orthopedics, post-operative, skilled rehab, comfort care, palliative care, and hospice.
This position is 36 hours per week.
Position Summary
* The Registered Nurse provides high-quality patient and family-centered care in accordance with the scope of practice defined by the Maine State Board of Nursing. Through collaboration, delegation, and communication with members of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers care to a diverse population without discrimination in assigned areas. The Registered Nurse supports the mission, vision, and values of MaineHealth.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
* Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
* License/Certifications: Current License as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine; Current BLS Certification. Other certifications as required by department, including Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women.
* Experience: A minimum of one year in an acute care setting preferred.
