This is an opportunity to lead the transformation of antenatal inpatient and induction of labour services in UHD. The post is fixed term for 12 months covering maternity leave. Base - Poole Hospital. Interview Date - TBC.
Key Responsibilities:
* Line management of MSWs and band 5 and 6 midwives.
* Day to day running of the induction of labour service and antenatal inpatients.
* Covering a 24/7 shift pattern which will include commitment to the board holding rota and on call board holding rota.
* Involvement with the Head of Midwifery and matron team in maternity assurance actions and reporting, patient experience, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Clinical care to patients admitted to the induction and antenatal ward.
* This key position has a strong focus on patient safety and compassionate care for women and birthing people facing uncertainty in their pregnancy and induction of labour journey. The successful midwife will lead the existing team through a once in a career opportunity of moving to a brand new, purpose built maternity unit.
* This is a fantastic opportunity to continue building on the success of the team in transforming the experience of induction of labour and care for women and birthing people experiencing complications of pregnancy.
* You will work closely with Maternity Triage, Antenatal Clinic, Labour Ward and the multi-professional obstetric team. This post also offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills.
* We are looking for a midwife with a passion for high risk antenatal care and a desire to support a team through change.
