We are looking to appoint a Maintenance & Grounds Operative at our residential service Low Laithes. The role primarily involves responsibility for providing high standards of general maintenance to the buildings and grounds of the service. You will be responsible for ensuring the buildings are well maintained, repairs are rectified swiftly and that they comply with relevant health and safety regulations along with ensuring the grounds are maintained to a high standard. Working hours and days will be Monday - Friday 8am - 4.30pm plus the occasional weekend as required. About You The successful candidate must be physically fit, enthusiastic and have experience in a similar grounds or gardening role. Experience in a variety of grounds tools and equipment (hedge trimmers, pedestrian mowers, strimmers etc.) is highly desirable but formal training will also be given. The role also involves working in both residential gardens but also wider communal spaces and woodland areas. This role also involves the responsibility of checks on outdoor playing equipment, general external cleaning or repairs and site management duties. You should be prepared for the physical and outdoor nature of the role that requires you to work in all weathers. As part of a small team of grounds people you must be a good team player as well as have the ability to build positive relationships with the people we support at Low Laithes and other employees.
