The project:
As part of the growing number of projects within Mace, we are seeking a housing and regeneration lead who has an exceptional understanding of the sector and is seen as a market leader in their own right. Who can develop the sector skill set, support regional teams and portfolio as part of our exciting development plans for growth.
Mace has a growing housing and regeneration sector, working on some of the leading and most complex schemes across the UK. With a strong pipeline of opportunities, we are keen to grow our talent and projects. Joining our senior leadership team, you will work with our regional director to lead on some of the most exciting projects Mace delivers and lead this entity across our Central and Northern region.
The role will take responsibility for teams managing end-to-end delivery and performance of large and complex commissions within the public and private sector, ensuring that client objectives are met through delivery. We are seeking someone who can act as a senior point of escalation, supporting and leading in business development, financial management and operational management.

4. You will be accountable for managing, estimating, and cost planning including ownership of and presenting cost plans.
5. You will lead the procurement process, ensuring stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
6. You will lead the delivery of cost management services to deliver key strategic outcomes and KPIs, directly influencing strategic development of plans.
7. Joining the Central & Northern Region, providing operational management to the delivery teams and input into the wider sector growth plans.
8. Providing development opportunities for team members, supporting the growth plans of the wider sector.
9. Being responsible for maintaining a strong pipeline and leading in the business development and supporting growth of the team and projects.
10. Acting as a single point of contact for the business to provide expert and strategic advice for the end-to-end delivery of projects, including bids, feasibility studies and project delivery.
11. Acting as a senior point of escalation for projects, providing resolution to issues and managing performance.
12. Managing and supporting project leads on the financial performance of projects.
13. Providing day to day strategic direction and support to the region.
14. Managing and developing the team skills to ensure objectives are met and clients are supported.
15. Establishing and maintaining key relationships with project partners, designers, contractors and other key stakeholders.
16. Setting up regular and clear lines of communication to address issues that may arise.
17. Attending regular progress meetings with clients to review service delivery and manage issues and opportunities.
18. Ensuring service delivery quality is maintained and correct team behaviours are promoted.

You’ll need to have:
25. Relevant degree qualification (chartered or a similar level of professional qualification will be viewed favourably) and have transferable skills.
26. Track record of business planning, business development and delivering work for public and private sector clients in the housing and regeneration sector.
27. Understanding of the intricacies of an integrated service offer covering cost, procurement, strategic advisory, project and programme management, PMO, sustainability and development management services in various contractual agreements in partner, consortia and direct contracts.
28. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
29. Construction consultancy background in either cost management or project management and be keen to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
You’ll need to have:
30. Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
31. Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. Strong commercial and financial acumen.
32. Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
33. Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
34. Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
35. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
