Our school caters to pupils aged 2–19 with a wide range of special educational needs, all of whom have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). The Role:
As an SEN Teacher, you will lead and deliver tailored lessons to meet the diverse needs of our pupils, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth. This full-time position is initially until Easter, with the possibility of an extension based on the school’s needs and your performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of individual pupils.
2. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other support staff to provide holistic care and education.
3. Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) to ensure each pupil makes progress.
4. Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
5. Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and external professionals.
6. Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in teaching pupils with SEN.
2. A deep understanding of a range of SEN needs, including autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.
3. Strong behavior management skills and a nurturing approach to teaching.
4. Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
5. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
