The RGS Worcester Family of Schools is delighted to invite applicants for the position of Director of Music (Full Time).
The role of Director of Music is a significant one at RGS Worcester and provides excellent opportunities for professional development and enhancement of the School’s broad and impressive Music provision. The Director of Music is responsible for all aspects of that provision - academically in the classroom and in the extensive co-curricular Music at RGS Worcester.
You will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of the Music Department throughout the whole of RGS Worcester, including liaison with the Music Departments across The RGS Family of Schools. You will lead the department in its wide and varied provision of classical, jazz and rock/pop music, keeping each of these styles of music-making flourishing and developing in whatever direction you choose, retaining inclusivity and musical excellence throughout.
The Music Department at RGS Worcester is part of the Creative Arts Faculty and has an excellent reputation in the city, driven by the breadth, quality and inclusivity of its co-curricular provision and excellent examination results. The Director of Music manages a part-time classroom Music teacher, and a salaried brass teacher who also leads the jazz ensembles. A team of 17 self-employed Visiting Music Teachers deliver weekly instrumental/vocal lessons in School, managed by the Director of Music.
