All our suitcases and travel accessories are handcrafted in our Hoddesdon Factory using original manufacturing methods and machinery that date back to the Victorian era. Our bespoke products are then shipped to destinations around the world.
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing and maintaining quality systems for quality and endurance testing for all Globe-Trotter products

Duties and Responsibilities
* Establish, document & implement in-house manufacturing quality standards; develop processes and procedure to ensure standards
* Define and agree quality and colour standards for all raw materials; communicate, monitor and enforce standards with suppliers
* Work directly with suppliers to ensure all necessary quality processes for sampling and production are implemented taking the necessary steps to validate
* Ensure all presentation and packing of goods to meet customer expectation whilst protecting goods in transit
* Develop and maintain product and material testing for performance and regulatory compliance
* Undertaken route cause analysis to develop corrective action and resolve quality issues
* Develop, lead & mentor the quality and engineering team fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Monitor and report monthly on key quality related metrics; identify trends, areas for improvement and a remediation roadmap
* Pro-actively guide the Production team ensuring compliance with Company, Third party and Customer standards, whilst achieving Quality objectives and KPI targets.
* Lead initiatives to continuously improve the Quality within the factory by identifying and implementing key performance indicators and leading initiatives to improve the performance.
* Undertakes external supplier audits, creates and reviews technical agreements and quality plans between Globe Trotter and their suppliers as and when required.
People Management
* Motivating employees to continually achieve targets quantity and quality required, provide support and guidance and necessary feedback.
* Ensure your direct reports take full responsibility and accountability for the department and their actions.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the Management Team
* Responsible for ensuring that all new team members are correctly inducted and trained.
* Work with HR on all employee issues such as grievances, disciplinaries and performance issues.
* Ensure staff are working safely to comply with Health and Safety legislation.
* Work with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ staff.
Requirements of the role
* Prior experience as a quality assurance manager
* Thorough knowledge of methodology of quality assurance and quality standards
* Eexcellent numeric skills, understanding of data analytics & statistics
* Excellent communication skills
* Good Knowledge of MS Office products
* Results driven with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to use appropriate root cause analysis decision tools for decision making.
* Ability to interact with multiple levels within the business as well as with external contactors
* Experience from the fashion/textile industry would be advantageous.
