Job Description: Category Manager This successful, ambitious retail group is recruiting a Category Manager to lead a transformation in the management of product categories, supplier relationships and the customer offering. You will own the strategic development of retail performance in a role that includes: Lead improvements across product range, store distribution and availability. Build relationships with suppliers that deliver better pricing, margin and support. Analyse sales data to determine trends, gaps and opportunities. Ensure optimal SKU count and space allocation by category. Build joint business plans with key strategic suppliers. Introduce a calendar for range reviews. Manage and develop the Buyer and buying admin team. Candidate Profile: Category Manager This is a rare opportunity to shape a new function from the ground up, working cross functionally with buying, marketing, retail, and commercial teams. Your insights will drive sales growth, margin improvement, and a new level of commercial capability across the business. We are looking for an experienced Category Manager with: Proven category management experience within a multi-site retail operation. A track record of leading and delivering annual category management growth plans. A data led approach with space planning, pricing, and insight tools (e.g. JDA, Nielsen, Kantar). Strong negotiation and influencing skills, able to work across teams and with suppliers. An impressive commercial mindset and an appetite for driving sales and margin.
