About the Role: As a Disability Support Worker, you will work closely with individuals who may have physical disabilities, learning difficulties, or other support needs. The role requires a holistic, compassionate approach to enable individuals to achieve their personal goals, maintain their independence and take an active role in their community. Responsibilities of Disability Support Worker: Providing personalised care to individuals, ensuring they feel supported, valued and empowered. Assisting with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation and medication support. Promoting independence by encouraging self-sufficiency and enabling individuals to make their own choices. Creating a safe and supportive environment, ensuring that individuals’ needs are met respectfully and compassionately. Monitoring and reporting on progress, concerns and health-related changes, while working closely with healthcare professionals and family members. Supporting mobility and transportation, including assisting with attending appointments, community activities, or outings. Building trusting relationships with individuals and encouraging their emotional well-being and social engagement. Ensuring that care and support plans are followed accurately, adapting support according to individual needs. What We’re Looking For: Have previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker or in a caregiving role. Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities, showing empathy, patience and dedication. Hold at least a Level 2 or 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or demonstrate relevant experience in the care sector. Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals with varying levels of need. Be proactive, reliable and able to work independently while also being part of a team. Experience with mobility aids and other assistive devices is desirable. Have the ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and maintain confidentiality. To Work with GSL Education, You Must: Have the right to work in the UK.
