Long-Term Teachers is proud to support a fantastic special school in Torbay that is seeking a dedicated teacher to provide essential cover across KS3/KS4 to students with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). The role is flexible in terms of longevity, so they should be able to support your needs.
About the role:
* Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students with SEMH in the absence of the classroom teacher
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued
* Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs and learning styles
* Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCO’s and other staff to provide targeted support
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to both students and staff
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies and procedures
About you:
* Secondary school based experience is preferred
* SEMH experience is essential
* Full time availability (Monday - Friday)
* Patience, resilience, enthusiasm and flexibility
* Confident in leading classes and managing challenging behaviour
* Able to drive and have access to your own car
The ideal candidate will hold qualified teacher status, but the school welcomes applications from unqualified teachers who are highly experienced.
