Job Title: Costs Draftsperson
Location: Manchester, UK
Job Type: Full-time, 39.5 hrs- Hybrid working available
Salary: £30,000 to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Role: We are seeking a skilled Costs Draftsperson to join our client’s esteemed costs department. This role will involve supporting senior case handlers by preparing formal bills and supplementary documents for detailed assessment across fast-track and multi-track cases.
Responsibilities:
* Drafting formal bills for inter partes detailed assessment.
* Preparing N260 statements of costs and risk assessments.
* Completing Precedent S and Q documents and initiating Detailed Assessment proceedings.
* Investigating disbursement liabilities and maintaining accurate client ledger information.
* Working to WIP targets and adhering to deadlines set by supervisors.
Person Specification:
* 2 to 10 years' experience in costs drafting within claimant personal injury sector.
* Legal qualification (LLB, GDL, LPC) desirable.
* Proficient in drafting Precedent H, R, and Q, and finalising bills in Multi Track and budgeted cases.
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Familiarity with Civil Procedures Rules and Detailed Assessment process.
* Experience with Proclaim Case Management System and Costs Master software preferred.
* Ability to work independently and under pressure in a dynamic team environment.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
* Competitive salary (£30,000 to £50,000) based on experience.
* Standard hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5:30pm, Friday 8:30am-5pm.
* 3/2 hybrid working pattern post probation.
* 23 days holiday (rising to 26) plus public/bank holidays.
