Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Revenue Controller in their Finance Team. In this role, you will act as a business partner and advisor to partners and other leaders within the firm with the aim of maximising the working capital process for all practice areas. The role will also be responsible for the general housekeeping of WIP and the production of various reports for internal teams to aid decision making.
Responsibilities:
1. Overall control and responsibility for driving the Lock-up management for all practice areas to ensure Lock-up is actively managed by partners and kept under control.
2. Providing analysis and insight to the Practice Group Leaders, Partners, and Finance team regarding Lock-up (WIP and Debtors).
3. Providing guidance to fee earners and secretaries on billing best practices, resolving queries, and identifying areas that would benefit from extra training.
4. Review billing profile for practice areas to improve bill generation timing where possible.
5. Hold regular meetings with Partners to review WIP/disbursements and debtors and follow up on action points.
6. Timely preparation and distribution of client WIP/Debtor statements and exposure/accrual reports as required.
7. Reviewing client account monies held monthly and liaising with partners regarding their use for future/existing bills or returns.
8. Detailed analysis when dealing with queries on unpaid debts to resolve issues and ensure payment is received.
9. Constant monitoring of WIP, billing, and activity levels, including arranging meetings with Departmental Managers/Practice Managers.
10. Completing monthly billing reports for specific clients.
A little about you:
1. Ideally, the candidate will have experience of working in a revenue/billing/credit control environment within the legal sector.
2. At least 2 years of professional experience in the accountancy area or experienced in WIP management.
3. Ability to build effective relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
4. High attention to detail and confidence in working with Excel to provide data.
5. Experience of working within a Partnership.
