The role As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll provide support to the Senior Electrical Engineer(s) and TCA Manager in implementing all non-nuclear safety implicated (Non NSI) Electrical design requests for HMNB Clyde, in line with NNSI TCA processes & policy. You'll have esponsibility for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining the design intent of all systems to ensure they are safe to operate from a design perspective whilst optimising the client's investment. You will conduct Asset Surveying activities across NSI and NNSI equipment/buildings and infrastructure. Day to day you'll: Assist Senior Electrical Engineer and TCA Manager in optimizing section resources. Ensure tasks meet cost, time, and quality standards. Implement safety, security, quality, and environmental policies, ensuring risk assessments. Provide electrical and building services designs for projects £25k. Review and approve design proposals and contract documents for compliance with standards. Support and direct design engineers on base-wide projects. This role is full time 36 hours per week Monday to Friday and is based in Faslane. Essential experience of the Electrical Design Engineer Working knowledge of: High Voltage systems, including maintenance and procedures, Electrical Design, Electrical Systems and Equipment, Operational Documentation, Statutory and Regulatory requirements including DSEAR Solid understanding of: CAD, COSHH, CDM, Building Control, Safe Systems of Work Qualifications for the Electrical Design Engineer Recognised Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent Confined Space Competent Person and Occasional Climber/Working at Heights Emergency First Aid and Asbestos Awareness 18th Edition - City and Guilds City & Guilds 2396-01 Level 4 Award in Design & Verifications City and Guilds 2395 Periodic Inspection Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
