Summary of the Role
The Ofsted Registered Manager alongside leading on all Ofsted requirements, will oversee the delivery of our supported Group Living services, ensuring that we deliver high-quality support to young people, in line with Ofsted regulations and best practices.
You will lead a committed team of project managers and staff, driving excellence in service delivery while maintaining compliance and safeguarding standards.
Ensuring the effective management, compliance, and service delivery of supported accommodation for young people aged 16+ is in accordance with Ofsted regulations and Roundabout’s values and ethos.
The Registered manager will provide leadership, oversee safeguarding practices, and ensure high-quality accommodation and support are delivered to enable young people to achieve positive outcomes. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Ofsted requirements and implementing them effectively in all aspects of service delivery.
This role requires a strong leader with excellent knowledge of Ofsted and the specific needs of Looked After Children and vulnerable young people, a commitment to safeguarding, and the ability to foster a supportive, high-quality environment.
Key accountabilities
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance:
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Ofsted requirements and implementing them effectively in service delivery.
• Maintain registration with Ofsted and ensure the service complies with all regulatory requirements.
• Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring a robust and well-documented quality assurance process.
• Regularly monitor and evaluate the performance of the service through audits, feedback, and reporting.
• Develop action plans to address areas of improvement identified in audits or inspections.
• Ensure the service is compliant with Ofsted standards and all relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
Leadership and Management
• Provide strong and effective leadership to the staff team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to maintain high standards.
• Manage recruitment, training, supervision, and performance appraisal for team members.
Safeguarding and Risk Management:
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of young people by implementing robust safeguarding policies and managing risks effectively.
• Responding to safeguarding incidents and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
• Ensuring all safeguarding concerns are promptly addressed and appropriately reported.
• Implement and maintain effective risk assessment and management processes for young people and the service as a whole.
• Ensure that all staff are trained in safeguarding and understand their responsibilities.
Service Development:
• Monitoring and evaluating service performance to achieve continuous improvement.
• Building relationships with external stakeholders, such as local authorities, regulatory bodies, and community partners.
Other duties
To take part in Roundabouts out of hours Managers on call rota
Facilitate team away days with the Senior Leadership team

Person Specification
Specific Knowledge, Experience and Skills
1 Direct experience managing services supporting young people transitioning from care to independence, or a similar client group.
2 A clear understanding of Ofsted regulations and standards for supported accommodation, alongside experience with inspections and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
3 Experience motivating, leading and managing teams in a care, supported living or similar working environment.
4 The ability to inspire, supervise, and develop staff through training, appraisals, and effective performance management.
5 Experience in creating, reviewing, and implementing policies and procedures aligned with Ofsted expectations and ability to adapt and improve policies based on service feedback and regulatory changes.
6 Experience and ability to prepare accurate reports for internal use and external bodies, including Ofsted.
7 Experience and a demonstrated ability to assess, manage, and mitigate risks effectively.
8 Proven experience in handling safeguarding incidents and maintaining a culture of safety. Alongside a strong knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, including Prevent and CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation) risks.
9 Proactive in identifying solutions to challenges and driving continuous improvement.
