The Halls of Residence Supervisor role:
The Chichester College Group received a fifth consecutive Ofsted ‘outstanding’ inspection grade for their residential provision in 2022, and now you could be part of the amazing team who helped achieve this.
As our Halls of Residence Supervisor, you will be a focal point for the Residents of Westgate Halls in relation to their welfare, supervision and security, undertaking administrative and housekeeping duties, and help maintain the site.
The Halls of Residence Supervisor role combines supervisory, welfare and administrative duties and is subject to the ANUK Code of Standards. You will have proven interpersonal and communication skills and experience of working in a welfare-related role.
Key Responsibilities of our Halls of Residence Supervisor:
The welfare and supervision of all students within Halls of Residence, as specified by the British Council,the Ofsted Care Standards guidelines and the ANUK code.
Engaging and supervising the students with a range of enrichment activities provided by the College in particular of an evening and weekend.
To keep up to date student records and information, this will include reporting of sickness and absenteeism to the appropriate Student Tutor or International Student Support Officer.
The monitoring of sick students and alternative feeding arrangements as advised by the Accommodation Health Care Assistant. Liaising and updating parents/agents if applicable.
The maintenance of relevant security and Health and Safety procedures, this will include ensuring that signing in/out procedures and rules regarding visitors are adhered to for the safety of all students and staff.
Reception duties, including helping out the residents and answering any questions, dealing with their post, assisting with making appointments if needed and generally ensuring the student has all they need in the Residence.
The provision and display of information throughout the building.
Liaising with duty security personnel.
Our ideal Halls of Residence Supervisor should have the below skills and experience:
GCSE English and Maths Grade C/4 or equivalent
Experience working in a welfare related role
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook
The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all ages and levels, with interpersonal skills
Responsible and professional approach
