Finance Manager UK Location: Aberdeen, Scotland, UK Reports to: Managing Director UK with a dotted line to Group Finance & Control Our client are a well-established and globally recognised Logistics provider, specialising in multi-modal, Project Freight Forwarding. Purpose of Job To oversee the company’s financial operations and accounting procedures to ensure a robust and commercially driven accounting function. Company Benefits - 5% ER Pension contribution - Healthcare Cashback plan - Life insurance - Group Income Protection 25 days annual leave per annum plus bank holidays Key Features of the role: Project Accounting - data quality, income recognition, and work-in-progress Sales & Gross Profit - variance analysis and commentary Balance Sheet - reconciliations and integrity Accounts Receivable - order to cash (credit controller and admin supervisor) Accounts Payable - procure to pay suppliers and overheads (accounts assistants) Overheads - oversight of accounting for property and other admin expenses Cashflow - oversee cashbook actuals and forecasts HMRC - various matters including VAT returns Main Tasks and Responsibilities Accounting Oversight: Ensure accounting records are accurate and comply with both local and Group standards. Financial Planning and Reporting: Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and monthly financial reports for local management and Group. Financial Analysis: Produce financial analysis and commentary for local management and Group. Managing Audits: Lead fieldwork packs and request lists from external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors. Ensuring Compliance: Ensure the company complies with local laws, regulations, and Group matters. Financial Risk Management: Work with local leadership to ensure adherence to Group standards. Cash Flow Management: Produce third-party and inter-company cash flow forecasts. Training: Lead the training process for the finance department and admin team.
