Personal Assistant for a disabled woman P/T £11.50/hr in Meanwood LS6 Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: e9d64bf1 Job Description JOB TITLE: Personal Care Assistant HOURS: Negotiable RATE OF PAY: £11.50 p/h plus holidays & benefits LOCATION: Meanwood LS6 PURPOSE OF ROLE: I am a 45 year old single woman who is living with debilitating illnesses that affect my mobility and my ability to live a life without pain. I use a power wheelchair to get around, I also have a folding wheelchair (that can go in a car) that can be used to take me out to social places, if I can’t get to the place easily with my power chair. I have numerous long-term health conditions that cause me chronic pain, fatigue and a vast number of other symptoms. Due to this, I tire very easily and often find my pain difficult to live with. Small amounts of activity can overwhelm me very quickly. In order to manage my conditions, I have to focus on pacing myself and making the best of what little energy I have. Along with balancing my medication and pain treatment. I'm looking for a PA, with a good sense of humour and a positive outlook on life, who also understands that my health fluctuates throughout the course of the day. There are days I can tolerate and enjoy conversations, there are also times when I need assistance to get specific tasks down whilst I rest in a quiet environment. I can also be incredibly anxious especially in unfamiliar situations, so I will need reassurance and support. Ideal candidates would have a good understanding (or a willingness to learn) about chronic illnesses. Car driver with own transport is essential. Previous experience is preferred but not a requirement. DUTIES TO INCLUDE: · Personal Care – assisting with showering and dressing. · General household tasks such as laundry, mopping, hoovering, changing beds, ironing and other standard household tasks. · Support with meal prep and shopping · Assistance and company socialising and getting out and about. · Plus any other reasonable requests. SUPERVISION: My PA will be directed by and accountable to me, in all aspects of their role. She must always respect my independence, and ask rather than assume, what assistance I require. A full induction and training will be given. Hours: Due to the nature of my health I will need a PA (s) who is flexible to work changing shifts depending on my health. I am willing to take on more than one PA and share the hours out according to your availability. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and must hold a clean and valid UK driving license. Due to the nature of the role, strict confidentiality is required.
