The post is responsible for administering a client-focused, comprehensive service liaising with others/departments and external colleagues. The postholder will provide appropriate advice to senior clinical staff and stakeholders within their functional area. The post will also support the delivery of a professional operational administration and advice service for the recruitment, selection and assessment processes on all postgraduate medical and dental education and development programmes. The role involves understanding a range of complex issues e.g., recruitment and assessment regulations, monitoring requirements of General Medical Council (GMC), service delivery needs of Trusts and other healthcare provider organisations, and data management of training posts. The post holder must use their own judgement as required to deal with this complexity, often in the face of conflicting pressures recognising when appropriate to escalate any situation to their line manager as well as maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders in implementing and communicating changes. In addition, the postholder will be expected to contribute to the multi-professional nature of the business of NHSE across the South East region and support region-wide PGMDE activities.
