Job Overview: Commodity Manager Stoke on Trent
The Commodity Manager will be responsible for the entire strategy for buying their respective Commodities. They will be responsible for Supplier selection, negotiations, terms and conditions, sourcing decisions, competitiveness, and performance management.
Responsible for ensuring requirements are met on time and in accordance with the appropriate quality standards, delivering a highly capable and cost-effective supply base, focus must be on developing and implementation giving leadership and direction to the commodity management teams and other areas of Supply Chain management, when required.
This role entails operating at a Management Level with a high degree of autonomy, whilst managing, mentoring, and developing an effective Commodity Team response globally, delivering cost effective solutions for our Cargo sites.
In this role, you will define and own the capability, strategy, and operational excellence of your assigned commodities.
You will develop key innovation sourcing activities, promote risk aware sustainable procurement, enhance the capability of the Procurement teams and promote the Procurement function internally and externally.
You will be a trusted advisor in creating the procurement of tomorrow and work side-by-side with stakeholders to deliver best in class products.

Qualifications and experience:
* MCIPS / APICS membership, equivalent or qualified by experience.
* Experience in procurement and Supply Chain Management processes, including but not limited to quality management, financial analysis, and contract negotiations.
* Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or Supply Chain preferred.
* Commodities purchasing experience including but not limited to; IT, electrical/electronic control & automation, mechanical, and fabrication.
* Operations experience in procurement/materials/inventory management a plus.
* A proven track record in achievement of cost reduction in purchased parts and or services.
* MRP/ERP software
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost drivers, and supply market dynamics.
* Knowledge of ISO quality assurance methods.
