The IT department is responsible for and designs the entire IT of the City of Munich. We ensure that IT provision meets the city's current and future needs. As part of the IT department, we ensure a modern IT and telecommunications infrastructure, implement professional IT solutions and secure the IT operations of the City of Munich with over 1,200 employees in our own company it@M.
What you can expect
As a DevOps Engineer, you will find yourself in an exciting environment that includes optimizing existing applications as well as implementing / planning and implementing IT solutions. As part of DevOps, you will also be responsible for operating Linux servers, which also includes analyzing and eliminating faults (service requests, 2nd / 3rd level support, etc.).
Your tasks will include the operation and maintenance of IT systems for the specialist procedures managed in the KM13 service area (trade, weapons, administrative offenses, etc.). This includes monitoring and troubleshooting, ensuring the required availability, carrying out lifecycle measures and installing new releases. In the Development department, you will plan, implement and test new applications in accordance with the requirements of the specialist departments, expand and maintain existing applications and carry out optimization measures.
In all these activities, you will always work together with your team colleagues and in close coordination with our customers in the district administration department and the fire department, external product manufacturers, internal and external partner processes and our infrastructure teams.
Occasionally, the job requires you to work outside of core working hours. This can occasionally lead to weekend work or on-call duty.

You have
* a successfully completed university degree in the field of computer science, administrative informatics or business informatics or
* a successfully completed university degree or equivalent skills and experience or
* a successfully completed qualification examination for the third qualification level or
* a successfully completed professional examination II or the successfully completed municipal qualification program IT-Q or you are a tariff employee and have already been in the third qualification level before 27.01.2010; in each case with several / many years (at least two years) of professional experience in the IT sector
and
* several years (at least two years) of professional experience in the administration of IT solutions and/or software development with Java / JavaScript
In particular, you bring with you
* Specialist knowledge: Several years of experience in the life cycle management of specialist applications, knowledge of the typical technology stack underlying modern IT solutions, such as the interaction of databases (Oracle), application servers (JBOSS), middleware (Apache Tomcat, Openshift) and fat / web clients, Linux servers and associated scripting languages (Bash) and/or several years of experience in software development with Java / JavaScript
* Result and goal orientation, especially technical problem-solving skills
* Ability to cooperate and deal with conflict
The following are an advantage
* Experience in supplier management
* Knowledge of Vaadin, vue.js, Git, GitLabRunner, KeyCloak
