Start Date: Immediate About the Role: We are seeking a Housing Support Officer to join a temporary accommodation service in Birmingham on an ongoing temporary contract (minimum 3 months). This role focuses on providing housing-related support to homeless individuals, helping them move towards stable accommodation and independence. If you are passionate about homelessness prevention, tenancy sustainment, and supporting vulnerable individuals, this is an excellent opportunity to make a difference. Key Responsibilities: ? Housing Support & Tenancy Management Assist residents in understanding their rights, responsibilities, and sustaining their accommodation. ? Move-On Support Help service users transition from temporary accommodation to permanent housing. ? Welfare & Benefits Advice Support residents in applying for Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, and discretionary payments. ? Multi-Agency Working Liaise with housing officers, social services, and support agencies to coordinate care and housing solutions. ? Safeguarding & Wellbeing Identify risks and vulnerabilities, ensuring appropriate safeguarding interventions are in place. ? Arrears & Financial Management Advise residents on rent payments, arrears prevention, and financial budgeting. ? Case Management & Support Plans Develop and maintain individual support plans, tracking progress and identifying further needs. What Were Looking For: ? Experience in housing support, homelessness services, or supported accommodation. ? Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, benefits system, and housing rights. ? Ability to engage with vulnerable individuals and support them towards independence. ? Experience in multi-agency working, safeguarding, and risk assessment. ?
