Role Summary:
A Machine Operator will maintain and operate a variety of machines and equipment, including hand tools, to carry out routine tasks. This position is also responsible for installation, visual inspection, and set up of machines and equipment within expected quality and safety guidelines. The machines and equipment may be manual or computerized.
Responsibilities:
1. Operate and maintain machines and equipment.
2. Use hand tools.
3. Move materials and parts to and from work areas via power lift trucks and forklifts.
4. Ensure a smooth flow of production.
5. Involved in solving production and technological problems.
6. Follow complex verbal and written instructions.
7. Utilize basic shop math skills.
8. Comply with established guidelines and procedures.
9. Adhere to all Safety Procedures & Policy.
10. Read and follow route sheets/Blueprints.
11. Train new machine operators.
12. Stand for long periods, perform repetitive arm motions, and lift up to 50 lbs.
13. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. HS Diploma/GED and/or 1-2 years experience in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or related environment.
2. Basic computer skills.
3. Self-motivated.
4. High level of organizational skills.
5. Ability to work well in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
1. Experience in machining or a similar field.
2. Experience using and interpreting precision measuring instruments.
