Support Worker Wanted
I am 20 years old and looking for a support worker to join my team.
I am just about to complete my college course and will be looking to undertake a range of activities at home and in the community following the completion of my BTEC Sports course.
I adore all things sport related. I also love music and computer games. I’d love my support worker to enjoy these things too.
I have cerebral palsy. I use a wheelchair full time and need help with all aspects of personal care and daily living activities. I need assistance to eat and drink as my upper limb function is limited. I have a PEG for top up feeding. I love to chat and interact but my cerebral palsy effects my speech patterns so you sometimes have to help me be understood, I am getting a communication aid to assist me soon and will need help to grow my skills in using this.
I have a fully adapted and equipped property and wheelchair accessible vehicle.
I need you to help me access desired activities at home and in the community. Some of my desired activities include partaking in powered wheelchair football which involves weekends in Birmingham or Bristol. I need support to do therapy and social and leisure activities. I have a team of one support worker and one team leader who you will work alongside. I am currently looking for support for the following shifts:
Day shifts (normally 12 hours)
Plus adhoc weekend hours which may include overnights.
Job shares can be considered.
I may have more hours to offer and there will be opportunity for extra weekend work and overnights but this is negotiable and flexible.
You need to have worked with young people like me before and have a full driving licence.
£16.00 per hour weekdays depending on experience.
£17.50 per hour weekends
£11.44 per hour sleeping night shifts
This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service.
Previous applicants need not apply.
Interviews will be held via Zoom/Skype/other such teleconferencing tools, therefore candidates MUST HAVE the ability to attend interview via these methods.
