We are seeking a committed and experienced Design Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary design team and oversee the successful delivery of design projects. This role requires a proactive approach to managing health and safety, delivering design solutions on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will drive efficiency, ensure effective communication, and work collaboratively across teams and disciplines to achieve customer requirements and project objectives. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations, specifications, codes, and requirements, identifying and managing risks throughout the design process. Lead the Design team to ensure a focused approach, meeting customer requirements and project objectives. Accountable for managing the design budget, ensuring design deliverables are produced within the allocated resource hours and by key dates. Organise and document all elements of design in the Design Management Plan and provide monthly status update reports. Attend and contribute to project, programme, and technical meetings. Deliver cost-effective technical solutions that maintain quality standards and meet project deadlines. Provide technical support during the construction, assembly, and commissioning stages when required. Ensure all technical work adheres to the correct standards, specifications, and quality assurance processes. Contribute to achieving sustainability targets by reducing the embodied and operational carbon footprints of design solutions. Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members, partner organisations, and stakeholders, sharing knowledge and expertise. Provide exceptional customer service internally, externally, and to stakeholders, building and maintaining strong relationships. Represent the company professionally in all client and external contacts, promoting a positive reputation. Maintain confidentiality and uphold a professional and positive approach to all aspects of work. Undertake additional duties, training, and hours as required by the role. Essential: Extensive experience in multi-disciplinary design management, preferably in a design-build environment. Degree in an engineering-related discipline. Chartered Engineer in an engineering-related discipline or actively pursuing Chartered status. APM Project Fundamentals Qualification. Proven ability to set targets, manage, and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction Health & Safety practices. Significant experience in the delivery of large-scale projects. Strong strategic, operational, technical, and management skills. Good general knowledge of water/wastewater treatment, including process, civil, and MEICA engineering aspects. Ability to present technical proposals clearly and confidently. Desirable: APM Project Management Qualification or working towards. Experience working with a global organisation. Experience managing remote or dispersed teams. Background in the water/wastewater treatment industry. Ability to embrace innovative and collaborative working practices.
