Research Assistant – University of the West of Scotland
UWS is delighted to advertise a research assistant post (part-time, flexible, and based in Scotland), suitable for someone in the farming community interested in doing research in a supportive academic environment, or for someone within or out with academia interested in the topic of dairy farming, technology, and wellbeing.
The research project (Impact of wearable technology on dairy farmers’ work and wellbeing) is funded by the Hannah Dairy Research Foundation, and it is being conducted in partnership by the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), Digital Dairy Chain, CRPR University of Exeter, and Teagasc with support from Graham’s The Family Dairy, DLF, First Milk, and Owen Farm Services.

Responsibilities:
1. Conduct research on the impact of wearable technology on dairy farmers’ work and wellbeing.
2. Collaborate with academic and industry partners.
3. Gather and analyze data related to the project.
4. Assist in the preparation of reports and publications.
Qualifications:
1. Background in agriculture, technology, or a related field.
2. Strong analytical and communication skills.
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
