Job summary An enthusiastic and motivated individual is required for this exciting post. You will be working as part of a diverse team, you will work closely nurses, ACPs, medical staff and other support staff to ensure our patients receive the best possible care on the Combined Triage Assessment Unit (CTAU). There may be additional request to cover within associated Cancer Departments at times at the Royal Derby Hospital. You must have a flexible approach to working patterns and you will participate in a shift system which covers 7 days per week. You will be committed to helping maintain patients' safety, privacy and dignity by demonstrating a caring attitude and want to make a difference to our patients' experience. You will give support to the patients and the team. You will initialise venepuncture and cannulation and Point of care testing and will be required to extend your scope of practice to undertaking ECG's. Skills in venepuncture and cannulation are essential and ECG's would be advantageous. This position offers an opportunity to develop and practice a wide range of skills. Main duties of the job Undertake a range of delegated, extended clinical tasks to support the CTAU team. Undertake a range of administrative tasks, assist in the implementation of care according to patients individual needs as directed by the nurse in charge. As a key front of house staff member, you will demonstrate professionalism at all times. You will welcome our patients and will provide reassurance and empathy whilst working under pressure to maintain patient flow. Contribute effectively as a member of the multi professional team, building appropriate relationships and communicating to a high standard. Contribute to effective working in a changing environment as services develop. Maintain and support the effective use of available resources (equipment, people and stock) in an efficient way. Complete all appropriate documents in a clear, accurate and timely way, participating in reporting processes as necessary.
