Job Purpose
Nuclear Waste Services has a vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer within our busy team on the LLW Repository in Cumbria.
As part of the role you will work within the NWS mechanical engineering team, reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer. This role will predominantly be aligned to the delivery of engineering projects and tasks on the LLWR site.
You will also provide Mechanical technical support to the Systems Engineering and Operations and Maintenance teams on the LLWR site.
Projects and tasks will be part of the following programmes on the LLWR site:
* RACER (Repository Asset Care, Enhancements and Remediation) - tasks and projects to support the safe and efficient operation of the LLWR site.
* Capping Operations - tasks and projects to enable the long-term capping of waste disposal facilities on the LLWR site.
Nuclear Waste Services are a client organisation, with significant design and construction contracts with the supply chain. As the Mechanical Engineer you will aid the Senior Mechanical Engineer in their delivery of design and construction tasks on the LLWR site. This will involve working with the supply chain, in addition to conducting and aiding the co-ordination of simple design and construction tasks within the NWS engineering teams.
