Integrated Maintenance & Repair (IMR) Alliance – Part of the Anglian Water network, focuses on infrastructure maintenance work and is responsible for: water network pressure management, finding and fixing leaks, replacing lead pipes and repairing burst mains. What will you be doing as a Safety Lead? You should have previous experience in a senior health & safety role with the ability to work with and influence at all different levels across organisations. You’ll work as part of the alliance to lead HS&W strategy in IMR Alliance ensuring appropriate safety strategies in place to help achieve the IMR WR business plans, and ensure delivery is monitored, managed and assured. A key part of your role will be to manage and lead a team of Safety Professionals. Provide visible leadership and coaching which continually raises their skills, capabilities, quality of service, insights and ideas they are able to offer. You will work with IMR operational teams to understand challenges and provide guidance and leadership for teams to work safely and efficiently through positive HS&W support and innovation. Creating a positive safety culture and contribute positively to the Alliance overall business plan as well as Anglian Water and Pan Alliance H&S plans You’ll work alongside the Anglian Water Safety Business Partner, the Alliance Leadership team and Board, develop and agree suitable safety targets and outcome measures aligned across the business. You will support Pan Alliance initiatives and ensure consistency for HS&W providing positive collaboration and engagement to contribute to collective success. Identifying and driving key improvements and consistency to Health, Safety & Wellbeing in order to make it easier to achieve the objectives. You’ll work as a member of the Alliance Leadership team supporting and advising all levels on any aspect of H&S. Key responsibilities: Lead and direct Alliance Leadership teams to develop and agree health and safety targets and outcome measures in line with AW and home organisation and identify long term strategy. Implement an Assurance process to demonstrate compliance and to identify areas for improvement in order to become industry leading. Lead and support the identification of improvements and opportunities for health, safety & Wellbeing including streamlined policies & procedures and working practices. Identify opportunities for innovation for health and safety in IMR and across Pan Alliance, utilising home organisations bringing outside in. Ensure compliance with current environmental legislation and promote best practices relevant to IMR Alliance Support Partner Organisations in achieving their environmental goals and sustainability objectives Lead and direct on accident & incident investigations Manage the continuous improvement of environmental / sustainability performance for the Alliance A little about your skills, behaviours and attributes required for this role Do the right thing for the Alliance, home organisations and Pan Alliance to ensure HS&W is a core value, front of mind and consistent across all areas - raising standards to be industry leading Build trust with key stakeholders in Alliance, AW and home organisations with positive engagement and collaboration for health, safety and wellbeing driving continuous improvement and consistency in all areas Be innovative and explore using professional H&S knowledge to find new ways of improving H&S in the Alliance and across all AW to make life better and safer looking outward to benchmark and bring fresh ideas in.
