Job Description
As a 1st line Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for all internal colleagues in the business, whenever they have IT related Incidents, Requests and queries, via phone, email, live chat or face-to-face. You will be responsible for the resolving these incidents and services requests within agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets.
As a 1st line Engineer, we are looking for someone to:
1. Providing 1st support for all Colleagues via phone, email, live chat, remote capability or face-to-face, escalating to 2nd Line support where applicable & when needed undertaking desk side visits to colleagues at all levels as needed in order to resolve issues delivering consistently to agreed SLAs and quality levels
2. Logging and assigning all issues/requests and tickets within the IT Ticketing System, keeping customers informed at regular intervals with progress
3. Resolving incidents on a First Time Fix basis wherever possible, and when not possible, escalate to the relevant team within GTS
4. Ensure regular security and upgrades are applied to VDI’s and Laptops in order to ensure they are kept up to date for Cyber Related Tickets
5. Completing internal desk moves & deploying new equipment
6. Identifying opportunities for process improvement or change within the Service Desk and IT Ticketing System
Qualifications
Essential
7. Experience in a 1st line or IT Helpdesk role
8. Customer service skills
9. Good problem-solving skills
10. Positive approach to learning and development
11. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10
12. Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
13. Experience of Laptop, VDI and Mobile Configuration
14. Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016 and 365 suite
