Purpose
Established in 1986, City in the Community is the registered charity of Manchester City and exists to empower healthier lives through football. Our programmes place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.
The purpose of the Community Outreach Officer – Kicks is to co-ordinate the day to day delivery of the Premier League Kicks programme across designated sites in Manchester while working closely with community partners and local authorities.
Accountabilities
1. Manage a team of full and part-time delivery coaches to deliver a weekly inclusive Kicks programme engaging participants across a wide range of ages, social backgrounds and abilities.
2. Create, maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders, local authorities, external funders, and internal partners to develop and implement an innovative approach to engaging young people across football, youth work and multi-sports. (including PLCF, GMP, MCR Active, Manchester Council)
3. Report on set outcomes and KPI’s associated with Premier League Kicks programme to develop, maintain and grow a strong working relationship with funders.
4. Quality assure the Premier League Kicks programme ensuring venues, session structure and curriculums are reviewed regularly and managing lead coaches to ensure accurate qualitative and quantitative data collection for reporting purposes.
5. Regularly review individual performances within the team, providing structured feedback to assess, identify and provide training and CPD opportunities which continuously improves the standard of delivery and support on the Premier League Kicks

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
6. Understanding of City in the Community Foundation, its projects and strategy.
7. Project co-ordination experience.
8. In-dept knowledge of coaching community-based programmes, specifically around youth work sports programmes.
9. Solid experience of working in and liaising with community organisations, facility partners, local government departments and external funding partners.
10. Experience of managing a team
11. Experience and knowledge of working within a brand environment and understanding the responsibilities that are associated with representing a Premier League Football Club
12. Competent across Microsoft office
13. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
14. Creative and passionate about continuous improvement
15. Resilient and adaptable to change
16. Excellent and inclusive team-working abilities
17. GCSEs in English, Maths and Science
18. Hold a full clean driver’s license
Desirable
19. Degree level education
20. Coaching Level 2 qualification in one other relevant sport.
21. Knowledge and experience of Youth Work theories and practise.
22. Specific knowledge of co-ordinating Premier League Chairitable Fund programmes and achieving associated KPI’s and Outcomes.
23. Remote line management
24. Budget management and reporting experience.
25. Presentation skills
26. Experience of delivering CPD sessions for wider team.
