The Role As a Technical Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of high-tech industrial automation equipment at client sites. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment is installed correctly, operates efficiently, and is maintained to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: Electrical and Wiring Expertise: Read, interpret, and work with electrical schematics to ensure correct wiring and system connections. Installation and Commissioning: Set up and integrate new machinery, ensuring systems are fully operational and meet client specifications. Preventative Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct planned preventive maintenance (PPM), diagnose technical issues, and repair breakdowns efficiently. HMI and Control Systems: Work with input/output (I/O) cards and human-machine interface (HMI) systems to configure and optimize machine functionality. Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Utilize fault-finding techniques to quickly identify and resolve technical issues, minimizing downtime for clients. Customer Support and Training: Provide clear technical support to clients, offering guidance on machine operation and troubleshooting procedures. Travel Requirements: Cover a large geographical area with a company vehicle, supporting customers across Scotland. Minimal overnight stays required. Overtime Availability: Be willing to work additional hours when required, with time-and-a-half pay offered for overtime beyond 38 hours per week. Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, experience working with industrial machinery, and a proactive, hands-on approach to technical service. Requirements: City & Guilds qualification or extensive relevant experience in electrical or mechanical engineering. Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, control panels, and 240V/3-phase electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics. Experience with HMI and automation control systems is highly desirable. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently. Willingness to travel across Scotland and work flexible hours when required. Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach. Why Join Us?
