Engineering Delivery Manager Location: Crawley 10% Travel required to other UK & customer sites What the role has to offer: Being able to lead and deliver your vision through your own plan Satisfying and rewarding work Logical problem solving projects Our Opportunity Thales in the UK is at the forefront of Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) air systems with more than 40 years’ experience developing and delivering manned and unmanned airborne surveillance systems. We are looking for an Engineering Delivery Manager to join our growing ISR business unit who are leaders in sensors, communications, mission systems and in the fast-growing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) market; we are delivering Europe’s largest UAS programme, Watchkeeper, to the British Army. You will be running the day-to-day engineering activities with the engineering team, manage tasks allocated to team members or tasks allocated to project or product teams, ensuring timely completion. The Engineering delivery Manager shall identify, plan, communicate and ensure that the Engineering Team execute their tasks driven by the PMO, ILS of Chief Engineer/Engineering Director implementation. Including production of the detailed Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMP) and production of a quality bill of material and Product Breakdown Structure. This is a key role to ensure that engineering solutions are value focussed and cost effective. As well as this, interface with SDAs, project management and ILS repairs organisation. Ensuring prioritisation of work package leads to a timely response to its stakeholders. In addition, you shall be responsible for and managing factors that affect the development lifecycle and you will need to manage the interactions within a systems engineering lifecycle as defined and agreed in the SEMP. You will need to define entry and exit criteria, for gate reviews such as SOR/SRR/SFR/PDR/CDR/FAT/SAT/TQR. On top of this, manage the integration of specialisms (such as ARMS availability, reliability maintainability survivability, EMC, TEMPEST, Cryptographies, CYBER etc.) within a project. Lastly, you will need to be able to identify metrics that will be generated, validated and analysed. Please note this role is a hybrid-working role with most of the team members working 3 days a week in the office. There will also be travel required to other UK Thales sites and customer sites.
