Job Description Media Officer. Salary: £31,500 per annum. Location: Remote. Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week. A Bit About The Role This is an exciting opportunity to join Action for Children as a Media Officer. You will have responsibility for planning and delivering news and media relations activities across the UK to highlight the work of Action for Children and issues relating to vulnerable children, young people and families. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, proactive & enthusiastic Media Officer to join the team at Action for Children. How You'll Help To Create Brighter Futures By Planning and delivering national, regional, and trade proactive and reactive media relations activity to highlight Action for Children campaigns, services, policy and fundraising initiatives. Developing key relationships and engaging with national, regional and trade media as appropriate including journalists, producers and researchers. Researching and writing media releases, statements and articles as appropriate for media outlets. Writing briefings and Q&As. Participating in the news and media relations rota, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day including weekends and Bank Holidays. Helping identify and manage case studies. Providing administrative support to the media team. Let's talk about you Experience of working within a press, PR or communications office, handling proactive and reactive activities. Experience of working with national broadcast, print and online media. Experience of briefing and preparing service users and colleagues to undertake media interviews. Experience of working on projects/ campaigns within multidisciplinary teams to achieve shared objectives. Experience of planning and delivering creative media strategies. Experience of responding to crisis/reputation management issues. Ability to build rapport and establish, develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships with journalists, staff, volunteers, vulnerable families, young people and children.
