Responsible for: To maximise the profitability of the Ibstock Division's product ranges through the development of new products and the management of the existing range with particular focus on function, sustainability, circularity principles and installation.
To lead the NPD project management function for Ibstock to ensure that we are a solution provider for the construction industry but a specialist in each product group that we offer to the market.
To work with the group NPD Programme manager, Marketing product manager s, sales, operational, technical and marketing teams to develop and execute new product delivery plans that will ultimately deliver a win/win for ourselves through hitting growth targets, and our customers through growing their business.
Summary: Responsibility for the new product development activity (excluding new colour and textures of bricks) and the project management of NPD delivery for Ibstock's Clay and Concrete Divisions.
Monitor trends and forecasting future product requirements focusing in particular on Sustainability, Circularity, Function and Installation.
Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and to lead the company's NPD strategy.
Provide on-going research and market intelligence for brick and associated products.
Manage, prioritise, and move forward the best ideas scored within the Growth Engine meetings.
Develop and prioritise NPD businesses cases coming from the Growth Engine (excluding new colours and textures of bricks)
Generate and deliver NPD prototypes and a testing program working in conjunction with the Technical Managers, Ceramic Specialists, RPM and Factory Managers.
Work with the Head of Marketing/Clay Product Manager - Clay and Concrete Divisions for product launches and promotional activity for new products.
Devise a clear roadmap for the development of the Ibstock Clays and Concrete product portfolio that prioritises NPD, which will deliver a step change for the commercial performance of the business.
Work with the team to anticipate or respond to product development initiatives delivering a clear advantage for Ibstock Clay and Concrete.
Actively plug into the Architects in Focus Group to gain a feel and understanding of their future product requirements.
Actively collaborate with Sales in a customer-facing role to champion the product view and product development project implementation.
Publish key insights in suitable formats for Sales for use in the commercial environment.
Ensure delivery of the Clay and Concrete NPD development program.
Responsible for submitting product attributes and technical information for product collateral per product group.
Work with Sales to develop appropriate by-customer product strategies and plans.
Work closely with marketing team to ensure delivery and ensure that successes are well measured and communicated.
Work with marketing team to deliver Features, Advantages, Benefits of each product launch and to ensure the delivery of quality on-brand, on budget and on time marketing campaigns.
Assume responsibility for running and owning projects from brief to execution. Involving all the necessary stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is clear on the status of your projects at all times.
Report KPI's on a monthly basis and identify areas for improvement.
