About the role: Grants Assistant Salary £25,000 - £28,000 (full-time salary) Part-time (30 hours per week) or full-time (37.5 hours per week) 30 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays Contributable pension Private health insurance Death in service benefit Other health & wellbeing benefits We are looking for an organised and adaptable individual to support the Fund's Grants department to provide effective and proactive support. Our charity and our team are evolving, we are looking for an individual who will be instrumental to the successful delivery of one of our largest grant programmes. The selected candidate will enjoy a hybrid working environment, based at home with occasional visits to the Fund's office near Marlow, Buckinghamshire and RAF Stations as required. Key responsibilities of the role include: Providing effective day-to-day administrative support to the Grants Department, covering the grants phone line and managing busy inboxes Processing and initial evaluation of grant applications Corresponding with grant applicants to obtain appropriate information to support the grant application Informing RAF personnel of grant decisions and awards Creating robust, detailed reports to support budget tracking and management reporting Supporting wider activities of the Grants department by contributing to creative sessions and programme reviews Assisting the Grants department and working with the Marketing and Communications team to monitor, evaluate and communicate the impact of the charity's grant funding Liaising with the Finance department to process grant award payments Working with the Operations department to develop the grant application process and the integration with the CRM Ensure that records, application forms and correspondence for grant applicants are filed and stored in accordance with appropriate Data Protection requirements Ensuring compliance with the Fund's policies and procedures in all aspects of work Undertake other work in support of the Fund's objectives as required and other duties as may be identified by the Grants and Programmes Manager including with ad-hoc fundraising requirements Person Specification: Essential: Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in ensuring workflows stay streamlined and efficient Ability to build rapport quickly and to consider the requirements of a diverse range of beneficiary groups effectively Resilience and experience in managing important and busy workloads Competent with CRM systems and able to gather information and summarise it to present to varying audiences Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment Dependable and reliable, able to keep calm and productive under pressure Desirable: Knowledge of the Armed Forced environment.
