What is an Apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are Government funded, work-based training programmes for recruiting full-time people ages 16 (there is no upper age limit) and providing them with the opportunity to combine 'on the job' training with a nationally recognised. The apprenticeships programme, funded through the Welsh Government supports training costs. The employer works with an approved training provider that carries out most of the training, for Safran Seats this is Newport and District Group Training Association (NDGTA). The craft apprenticeships in operation at Safran Seats GB: - Advanced level apprenticeships that offer a work-based learning programme leading to a BTEC and NVQ level 3. These qualifications, known as Craft Apprenticeships, are trade skill based roles to become a CNC machinist. Complementary Description What will I be doing as an Apprentice? Depending on the level, that you come into your apprenticeship at will determine your starting point. If you start on a BTEC L3, your first year will be full time at college from September until July and then you will work onsite and attend college 1 day/week during term time to complete your academic qualification. During your working time onsite, you will work in specific departments to learn. The departments you will work in are linked to the discipline you have chosen to study. Job Requirements Job requirements - what do you need from me? - You will have a keen interest in science and engineering and be able to demonstrate a methodical and thorough approach to work. - You will possess excellent problem solving abilities. - The role of apprentice will require you to be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills. - You will be a motivated, hardworking individual with excellent planning and organisational skills. - The ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own will be key to your success. Successful candidates will ideally have achieved, or expect to achieve at least 5 GCSE's - including Math and English - Grade A-C or 4-9, Science and a technology.
